Environmental Science is designed to help students understand and learn to protect the environment. Students will study populations and communities, ecological interactions, ecosystems, biome structures, wetlands, stream development and protection, and land, water and air resources. Students will examine and analyze global environmental topics such as energy production, soil, resource use, wildlife, wetlands, groundwater investigation techniques and other problems that affect the planet. In addition, students will demonstrate knowledge and skills in providing solutions to these problems by completing projects and various lab activities. This course is designed to introduce students to a broad base of environmental and ecological topics. The course covers big ideas in environmental science and ecology with a focus on current environmental issues.
